Artist Name: Caroline Schmitz
Artist Bio: Caroline taught art at OPS for 30 years, and is
now an adjunct art instructor at UNO. She has a studio at Hot Shops Art
Center. Her focus is on ceramics, textiles, and watercolor.
Statement: Caroline remembers the small farm kitchen on Mondays,
transformed into a laundry. This child’s dress represents the many
pinafores and smocked dresses her mother made for her, her daughters,
and now, her granddaughter
