Dottie Seymour and Shawn Plichta
Artist Bio:
Dottie works in watercolor and mixed media, teaches
art, and is in the Artists’ Co-op. Shawn served in the military and is
now with the Red Cross and in school
Statement:
Her piece, a camouflage uniform, involves giving
homage to the men and women who serve our country and protect us from
harm in so many, many ways. She has had the wonderful opportunity to
work personally with families of the Army National guard in the Omaha
unit away in Kearny. She provide mask making workshops throughout the
area and was invited to facilitate friends, family, children, husbands,
wives, fathers, sons and daughters work through their emotions and
feelings about their loved ones who serve our country - what a wonderful
experience.
