Where did the J. Doe’s go after their 6 Month (May thru September, 2001) display in the Greater Omaha Metro Area?

Yes, 66 0f 105 J. Does were Auction off in front of a sold out crowd at the Rose Blumkin Center of the Performing Arts, the evening of Saturday 29, 2001. The J. Doe Project and this Auction was a fund raiser for the City of Omaha Public Arts Commission

Were the money or proceeds from each winning bid go toward?

  • 1/3 of the purchase price goes to the artist
  • 1/3 goes to the charity of bidder or artist choice- The bidder decides. 
  • 1/3 will go to the City of Omaha Public Arts Commission.

According to September 30th, Sunday Omaha World Herald story “Does see Dough and away they go” (page B12), this auction raise $251,050 for the City of Omaha Public Arts Commission. This story lists 14 J. Does that received final bid of $5000 or More.  Each J. Doe final bid is listed with Charity sharing in the Proceed (where Know)
